Praparing For Aerosmith Concert

Aerosmith is an American hard rock band, sometimes referred to as "The Bad Boys from Boston"and "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band". Their style, which is rooted in blues-based hard rock, has come to also incorporate elements of pop, heavy metal, and rhythm and blues, and has inspired many subsequent rock artists. The band was formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970. Guitarist Joe Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton, originally in a band together called the Jam Band, met up with singer Steven Tyler, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Ray Tabano, and formed Aerosmith. In 1971, Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford, and the band began developing a following in Boston.

They were signed to Columbia Records in 1972, and released a string of multi-platinum albums, beginning with their 1973 eponymous debut album. In 1975, the band broke into the mainstream with the album Toys in the Attic, and their 1976 follow-up Rocks cemented their status as hard rock superstars. By the end of the 1970s, they were among the most popular hard rock bands in the world and developed a loyal following of fans, often referred to as the "Blue Army". However, drug addiction and internal conflict took their toll on the band, which resulted in the departures of Perry and Whitford, in 1979 and 1981 respectively. They were replaced by Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay. The band did not fare well between 1980 and 1984, releasing a lone album, Rock in a Hard Place, which went gold but failed to match their previous successes.

Although Perry and Whitford returned in 1984 and the band signed a new deal with Geffen Records, it was not until the band sobered up and released 1987's Permanent Vacation that they regained the level of popularity they had experienced in the 1970s. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, the band scored several hits and won numerous awards for music from the multi-platinum albums Pump (1989), Get a Grip (1993), and Nine Lives (1997). Their comeback has been described as one of the most remarkable and spectacular in rock 'n' roll history. After 40 years of performing, the band continues to tour and record music.

Aerosmith is the best-selling American rock band of all time,[16] having sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, including 66.5 million albums in the United States alone. They also hold the record for the most gold and multi-platinum albums by an American group. The band has scored 21 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, nine #1 Mainstream Rock hits, four Grammy Awards, and ten MTV Video Music Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and in 2005 they were ranked #57 in Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

Colombian Presindential Election 2010

Government group
In 2002, Álvaro Uribe of the Colombia First party was elected president with 53.1 per cent of the vote, breaking the two-party system that ruled the country since 1958, with the promise of ending the armed conflict that haunts the country since 1964 by strengthening the Armed Forces.[3] In 2006, he managed to change the Constitution in order to run for a second consecutive term. After a practically mute campaign, Uribe won the election with 62.2 per cent of the vote, followed by Carlos Gaviria of the Alternative Democratic Pole with a distant 22 per cent.

In 2007, Luis Guillermo Giraldo, leader of the pro-Uribe Party of the U, announced he would create the "promoters’ committee", a group charged with gathering signatures to call a referendum on whether Uribe should be allowed to run for a third term in office. In September 2009, Congress approved the referendum bill in a late-night voting boycotted by members of the opposition. On February 26, 2010, the Constitutional Court voted against the referendum bill.Immediately after the ruling, former defence minister Juan Manuel Santos confirmed that he would become a presidential candidate. Other Uribist candidate is Germán Vargas Lleras of the Radical Change party. Former Colombian ambassador to the United Kingdom, Noemí Sanín, and former agriculture minister Andrés Felipe Arias, two of the closest Uribe allies, are seeking nomination by the Conservative Party.

Opposition group
The main opposition candidates are Rafael Pardo of Liberal Party and Gustavo Petro of the Alternative Democratic Pole. Álvaro Leyva Durán, a Uribe opponent, is seeking the presidential nomination by the Conservative Party. Former Medellín mayor Sergio Fajardo, neither an ally nor opponent to Uribe, is an independent candidate.

On October 2, 2009, the Green Party was officially created. It will nominate its presidential candidate on a primary ballot that will take place on March 14, 2010, the same day as the legislative election. The contenders are three former Bogotá mayors: Enrique Peñalosa, Antanas Mockus, and Luis Eduardo Garzón. The Greens seek to be a moderate force in what they called "a polarized" political situation, calling themselves "Post-Uribists."

Cine Colombia

The Cinema of Colombia (Spanish: Cine de Colombia) or Colombian Cinema (Spanish: Cine colombiano) refers to the historic evolution of cinematography in Colombia. The Colombian cinema has struggled to develop a solid industry throughout its history[citation needed]. During the beginning of the 20th century some production companies tried to maintain a level of constant production but due to lack of government support and the strong international industries ended up diminishing the initiatives. In the 1980s the government of Colombia helped to develop the state owned Cinematographic Development Company (Compañía de Fomento Cinematográfico FOCINE) which helped to produce some films but also struggled to maintain financially. FOCINE was liquidated in the beginning of the 1990s. In 1997 the Colombian congress approved Law 397, Article 46 or the General Law of Culture with the purpose of supporting and complementing the development of the movie industry in Colombia by creating a cinematography promotion mixed fund called Corporación PROIMAGENES en Movimiento (PROIMAGES in motion Corporation).[1] In 2003 Congress also approved the Law of Cinema which helped to restart the cinematographic industry in Colombia.

Festival Iberoamericano De Teatro

FITB became a reality in 1988. It was founded by Fanny Mikey and Ramiro Osorio, and launched as part of the 450th anniversary of the founding of Bogotá, with the slogan, An Act of Faith in Colombia. One of its original goals was to foster the integration of Latin American artists and countries before the world. Fourteen years later, it is acknowledged worldwide as one of the largest international events of its kind. This biannual celebration of life is Colombia’s most important cultural event. It presents artists from the five continents and has a profound social impact that transforms and enriches the life of the country’s citizens.

Throughout its 18-year history, the FITB has been committed to presenting diverse work and to promoting plurality, tolerance and the harmonious interaction of all nations. It is a multidisciplinary event that showcases and celebrates all genres of the performing arts: it includes theater, dance, circus, music, puppetry, pantomime, multimedia and performance art. Through the presence of companies and artists from around the world, FITB has fostered an unprecedented development of the performing arts in Colombia.

Bogotá is all decked out for the celebration. Squares, parks, suburbs, coliseums, shopping centers, big tops and unconventional spaces are the home to shows, street theatre and parades. The theatre for open spaces has astonishingly captivated huge popular audiences with shows that have had enormous social, visual and poetic impact representing many diverse trends. Audiences ranging between 4000 and 8000 people per show have exceeded all forecasts during the last Festival. The decentralizing and staging of massive shows all around the city has been one of the fundamental objectives of FITB since its beginnings.

As a meeting place for the guest artists and their audiences, The Cabaret Big Top gave a fantastic program every night to give free rein to music, rumba and the best cabaret shows and musical revues.

FITB also has an ongoing commitment to the education of the general public and to updating the craft and knowledge of Colombian performing arts professionals. For this reason, FITB provides a space for meeting, exchange and reflection that is open to the artistic community during the Festival. FITB offers workshops, courses, seminars, colloquia and forums held by directors, actors, dramatists, producers and other theatre professionals from around the world. This project brought together well over 8000 participants in 2002.
