Gold Museum
The Gold Museum (Museo del Oro), the most important in the world, preserves the heritage and Colombian culture. It was declared National Monument. It displays 34.000 golden pieces and 20.000 stones, ceramics, textiles; all of them belonged to Calima, Muisca, Timbaya, Tolima and Malagana cultures. Most of them are exhibited in The Bank of Republic located in front of Santander Park.
The museum has two exhibition rooms: In the first floor there are archaeology and anthropology exhibitions. In the second floor, the exhibitions are classified in archaeological regions; there are objects like necklaces, bracelets, masks, etc. In the third floor, people can observe golden objects plenty of symbolism.

The museum has activities like workshops for children in different ages, young people, adults and families.

Tuesday to Saturday: from 9:00 to 60:p.m.
Sunday and holiday: from 10: 00 to 4:00 p.m.
Closed on Mondays, including holiday Mondays.

1. The pre- recorded audio guides: an electronic device accompanies people, describing every characteristic.

Colombian National Museum
It is one of the oldest museums of the country, was founded by Francisco de Paula de Santander. It has one of the best collections in Colombia. The museum has 17 exhibition rooms, where there are more than 20 thousand of pieces, among them works of art. The permanent exhibitions are about archaeology and ethnography from 10.000 A.C. to XX century.

The museum activities are: commented visits, conferences, concerts, movies, art and educational programs.

Colombian Mint House
It was created in 1957 with works of the First Hall of Modern Art. It has more than 3.500 modern art works, samples of paper paintings, graphic works, drawings, Colombian and foreign sculptures.
It has art exhibitions as: Permanent exhibitions of art collections inside Mint House and Luis Arango library. People can observe art exhibitions that carry them through Colombian art history and America art too. The numismatics collection has a large collection of coins, medals, and bills.

Bullfighting Museum of Bogotá

The museum was founded in 1969, inside the history of bullfighting is reflected in objects like clothing of famous bullfighters, capes, banderillas, swords, etc.
The objects are exhibited in chronological order: ancient, modern and contemporary ages. It can be observed many photos of famous Colombian and foreign bullfighters, samples of bullrings of the world and sculptures.

Museum of Bogotá
It is located in Planetarium of district. It is a cultural place, has the purpose to do a reflection about the urban life in order to contribute to the cultural identity of Bogotá’s people.
It is a place where there are constantly researches about the city. It has graphic, cartographic and heritage documentaries.

Modern Art Museum of Bogotá (MAMBO)
The museum has modern art collection like drawings, paintings, engravings, sculptures, etc. It has collections of Colombian artists like Fernando Botero, Fernando Botero Obregón, Edgar Grau and Alejandro Obregón. Its modern four-storey building has modern and contemporary exhibitions and a cycle of films too.

La Salle Natural Sciences Museum
The scientific and pedagogic museum has interesting Colombian fauna collections. There are stuffed animals like snakes, polar bear, kangaroo, monkeys and birds of Africa, Asia, America and Australia.
The museum was classed as one of the most important vegetable collections of the country, including reptiles, mammals, insects, fish and amphibians.

Museum of Regional Costumes
The museum was founded in 1972; is located in Rufino José Cuervo small square. Its room’s exhibitions are considered National Monument. It is possible to appreciate the typical costumes of Colombia.

It has Colombian textiles collections from its origins to nowadays, those are made by native people. There are many handmade works; all of them show the culture and diversity of the country.

Arts and Popular Traditions Museum
The art and popular traditions museum was founded in 1969. There are fabrics, looms and handmade objects exhibitions. Inside the native exhibition room there are crafts like basketworks, ceramics, carved objects, fabrics that reflects the life costumes and rites of different Colombian cultures. The museum venue is a colonial cloister which belongs to XVII century, in former Agustiniano School.

Colonial Art Museum
The Museum was inaugurated in 1942 in a building that belongs to a Jesuit school. It is a place dedicated to reflection
Colonial culture popularization. The museum has colonial art exhibitions like easel paintings, sculptures, drawings, engravings, silver objects, etc. it has the biggest work art collections of Vasquez Arec and Ceballos famous painters.

Church Museum of Santa Clara
The temple’s draft began in 1919; its size is similar to temples in Indian villages. The facade has on the top, windows and skylights, grills and asymmetric narrows. The adjacent convent was demolished between1912 and 1914.
The church was dedicated to worship to about the middle of seventies. It was restored during the eighties decade and nowadays, it functions as Colonial Art museum. Inside, there are a lot of paintings framed by magnificent moldings or build in beauty altarpieces.

Archaeological Museum – Casa del Marques de San Jorge
The museum “Casa del Marqués de San Jorge” was built at the end of XVII century, its oldest owner was Jorge Miguel Lozano de Peralta, the most render owner and benefited with the title of Marqués de San Jorge in 1787 by the Spanish Crown.
It has important collection of archaeological material, with pre-Columbian ceramics of different cultures of Colombia as Antioquia, Calima, Muisca Guane, Quimbaya, Nariño, Tierradentro, Cauca, Tumaco, Sinú, Tayrona, Tolima. They are classed with a filing card, has religious and domestic representation, and also publications of Popular Bank in 144, with thematic about history, ethnology, archaeology, economy and national politics that forms part of heritage of Culture development.

National Museum of Telecommunications
It exhibits all about the evolution of communications in Colombia and over the World. In the first floor, there are equipments and telegraphic, telephonic and commutation sets, it also shows radios, tape recorders and televisions. In the second floor, there are panels that explain with photos and texts about: the primitive communication systems, as writing, photography, telegraph, telephone, cinema, television, fibre optics and the history of National Telecommunications Company (Telecom).
It is possible to appreciate a “maguaré”, native instrument used by Huitotos of Amazonas.

Jaime Manssur Marionette Museum
The museum has a collection of objects and miniatures, there are over 4000 small dresses of all epochs, from the prehistory to nowadays (they have cuts, embroideries, haut couture), has a tiny utensils that includes glassware, decorative objects and products for domestic use.

Sea Museum – Jorge Tadeo Lozano University
The museum has stuffed species, skeletons and fossils organized in sections that illustrate thematic about marine life. The collection includes singular species as a giant clam and skeletons of sea cows, dolphins, and “atleta” whale, and also small aquariums where are exhibited sea urchins, lobsters, and alive crabs.

Museum of XIX century
The museum shows daily aspects, the landscaping, the customs and the literature of Colombia, exhibiting ornamental remains of XIX century. It has thematic rooms: wardrobe, art, furniture, decoration, photographs, landscape, miniature, pencil draws and caricatures.
It was a colonial house originally, but after its enlargement by the owner’s order José Maria Valenzuela, was classed as “republican architecture” from 1830 and 1930. It is the head office of the museum since 1980.

Botero Museum
Botero Museum has an art collection donated by Fernando Botero, is considered one of the most important museums in the country. It has 85 works of the most representative history artists of XIX century and the first middle of XX like: Picasso Renoir, Dalí, Matisse, Monet, Degas, Chagall, Giacometti y Bonard, among others. There are exhibitions inside the former newspaper library Luis López de Mesa, then was known as Exhibitions House and now is permanent head office of Botero museum.

Museo Exposición El Hombre (museum)
It was founded on August 3, 1973. It is unique in its genre, invites to observe, analyze and reflect on controversy themes, also recover cultural identity values, respect to life, miscarriage prevention, consumption of alcohol and cigar.
There are human dissections that can be appreciated from all angles, you will see the corpses interior and admire the human embryo from the gestation to birth.
It is useful for school and university students, mainly for biology, health and medicine.
